Arrival by car

From Germany

Take the A7 motorway to the Allgäu motorway junction. From here, follow the A980 to the Waltenhofen junction and then the federal road B19 via Sonthofen and Oberstdorf into Kleinwalsertal. After the village of Riezlern, turn right onto Schwarzwassertalstraße road. After 600 metres, you will see Hotel Gemma on your left.

From Switzerland and Vorarlberg

From St. Gallen, drive in the direction of Bregenz, follow the German Alpine Road (Deutsche Alpenstrasse) to Oberstaufen, Immenstadt, Sonthofen, and Oberstdorf into Kleinwalsertal.
Alternatively, take the Riedberg Pass. This will take you via Hittisau in Bregenzerwald, the Riedberg Pass, Fischen in Allgäu, and Oberstdorf to Kleinwalsertal. During winter especially, please check if the Riedberg Pass is open.
After the village of Riezlern, turn right onto the Schwarzwassertalstraße road. After 600 metres, you will see Hotel Gemma on your left.

From Austria

Travel to Germany via the A7 to Kempten and continue on the B19 towards Oberstdorf and Kleinwalsertal. After the village of Riezlern, turn right onto Schwarzwassertalstraße road. After 600 metres, you will see Hotel Gemma on your left. It is best to enter 6993 Mittelberg (Vorarlberg) as the destination for your GPS.

Arrival by public transport

You can easily reach the Oberstdorf train station by bus or train. From the train station, there are frequent regional buses to Kleinwalsertal. If you are staying with us for more than three nights, we would be happy to pick you up at Oberstdorf train station and drop you off on the day of departure.
